The Tokon/Toukon (lit. fighting spirit) Academy was founded in 2000 and whilst our schedule includes classes in Mixed Martial Arts, Submission Wrestling and Judo our pedigree lies in coaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

As a founder member of the ‘Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Schools’ initiative the Tokon Academy is proud to be the largest single provider of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to school children across the United Kingdom.

Creating a functional environment through core movements and fundamental learning patterns is paramount to the development of everyone training with the Tokon Academy and everything taught on our mats is applicable to the sporting arena as well as a self-defence environment.

Training at the Tokon Academy is always hard and taken seriously; however, we always maintain a professional, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. New members are important to us and are always made to feel welcome, no matter what your age, level of fitness or experience level, at the Tokon Academy there is a class that will benefit you as an individual.
